Born on August 21, 1955, in the town of Olonets in Karelia. In 1992, founded and headed the CTB Film Company. Winner of numerous film prizes and awards. The business magazine “Expert” named Sergei Selyanov “the only Russian producer whose name has become a brand in the field of film production.” Awarded the Khanzhonkov Medal for Best Producer 1995-1998. In 1999, received a prize from the Motion Picture Association (USA) “for outstanding achievement in the development of independent film production in Russia.” Awarded special prizes of the National Guild of Film Critics and Film Press – the Golden Ram 2001 (as Best Producer of the decade) and the Golden Ram 2002 (“for bravery in the promotion of national cinema on Russian screens”). Member of the Administration of the Filmmakers Union of the Russian Federation. Vice President of the Russian Guild of Producers. Winner of a State Prize of the Russian Federation for Film for the Year 2003 (for the film “The Cuckoo”). Producer of over 50 feature, animated and documentary films which have won numerous awards and recognition at Russian and international film festivals.
